D/s Relationships vs Transactional Relationships (Basic Blog #10)

The title says it all. These are two very different things. This is a basic blog so I will keep it very... Well basic.

D/s relationship. Is a relationship. There is a connection. Meaning. Something real. A D/s relationship grows over time. There are exchanges within the relationship that to an outsider that may look like a transaction but they mean so much more.

Transactional relationship: Only exist when something is exchanged. This type of relationship can be turned on and off.

Is one relationship better than the other? Not necessarily, it depends what you are looking for at that particular time.

When are transactional relationships beneficial? Transactional relationships are great for those who aren't quite sure what they want. It's a way to discover what you do and do not like. Transactional relationships are non-commital. A transactional relationship is often ideal for those who are new to kink and are discovering their way. This type of relationship is also ideal for those who do not have time to commit to a full time D/s relationship. A transactional relationship gives a kinkster an occasional much needed release. Transactional relationships can vary in intensity level as they are temporary. As soon as the interaction is over there is no need for communication until the next "transaction." This type of relationsip is not beneficial when the other side does not understand that the relationship is purely transactional. If both parties are aware of a transactional relationship then there should be no problems.

When are D/s relationships beneficial? In My case this is my preferred type of relationship. A D/s relationship gives both parties structure. It also fills a void in their lives. A D/s relationship is essential for My happiness. If I did not have My subs part of My life would be missing. D/s relationships are great for those who are committed to the lifestyle and for those who know exactly what they want. D/s relationships require care, understanding and respect from both parties. A D/s relationship won't work with just any partner, the connection has to be right and there has to be the will to commit on BOTH sides. A sub who knows their purpose and know what they want is crucial. D/s relationships are amazing when they are done right, but you must not go into one blindly, and the intensity must be built up over time at a pace where both parties are comfortable.

There you have it, the difference between transactional and D/s realtionships. Basic af.
